Jenkins Withdraws From Ward 1 Race

Dane Jenkins has withdrawn from the race for Ward 1 alderman, citing a possible conflict of interest with his job as an employee of Southern Printing, which does a considerable amount of printing work for the city. That currently leaves just one candidate for the position, Robin Rafferty.

Henderson Repairs Begin Thursday

The small bridge on Henderson Avenue, just south of Bayou Portage, will close on Thursday for repairs. The repairs will take at least 75 days. The detour will be on Clark Avenue.
The Cedar Avenue bridge is complete and that road is now open.
