Historical Commission Denies St. Paul Demo Application
The Pass Christian Historical Preservation Commission tonight voted to deny the application request to demolish St Paul Church, said Margaret Jean Kalif, the commission’s chair. The vote was unanimous, she added.
The church now has 30 days to appeal their decision to the commission and the Board of Aldermen, Ms. Kalif said.
About 70 people attended the meeting this evening. The Biloxi Diocese and Holy Family Parish announced last month that St. Paul Church in downtown Pass Christian would be demolished because refurbishing the building “was not considered an option due to structural problems.”
