Historical Commission Denies St. Paul Demo Application

The Pass Christian Historical Preservation Commission tonight voted to deny the application request to demolish St Paul Church, said Margaret Jean Kalif, the commission’s chair. The vote was unanimous, she added.
The church now has 30 days to appeal their decision to the commission and the Board of Aldermen, Ms. Kalif said.

Shrimp Season Opens Thursday

The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources this week said it would open the 2010-2011 shrimp season in Mississippi territorial waters west of the East Biloxi ship channel at 6 a.m. Thursday, June 3, 2010.

St. Stanislaus Wins 4A State Championship In Baseball

The Rocks have won their third state title this year, after winning 6-0 over Amory in the second game of the three-game 4A baseball championship. Earlier this year, the Rock-a-chaws won the state title in football and soccer. We’ll have more details in next week’s paper.

Suspected Rig Debris Washes Up On Pass Christian Beach

A piece of debris suspected to be from the Deepwater Horizon rig has washed up on shore here in Pass Christian.
