Mental Health Service Grants

Most residents of the Coast who were affected by Katrina are eligible for a $2,000 grant from the Red Cross that will pay for emotional support services. This funding can be used for reimbursement for money already spent on mental health services since Katrina, on medications, or on counseling services through Sept. 30, 2008.

Please contact Red Cross Access to Care before March 31, 2008, for details and to enroll. The 24-hour toll-free number is 866-794-HOPE or visit www.a2care.org. Many providers of mental health services on the Coast accept the Red Cross grant coverage for their services.
